Description
Here is a wonderful painting in a fabulous Victorian frame for the cat lover in all of us. Every time I look at this, I think Of the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland. I suppose it's because the style reminds me of illustrations in Lewis Carrol's masterpiece. And there certainly is something magical in Tomson's style. Make this the centerpiece of the foyer to wow the "invited guests" at your next dinner party.

Arthur Tomson, British, 1858-1905: Cats were Tomson’s favorite subject, and he even illustrated a book of poems “Concerning Cats” in 1892.  He exhibited at the major galleries in London from 1883 and was an art critic for the Morning Leader.  In 1903 he published “J. F. Millet and the Barbizon School.”  He also wrote a novel “Many Waters”.
