The rabbet is 27 7/8" x 42 1/4"." With a little routing it could service a 28" x 42" work of art. Smaller pieces may be made to fit by the insertion of a liner. Or put in glass for a mirror that will make any room in the house. Outside dimensions are 45" x 60" x 4 1/2" deep.
