Thorvaldsen - Day and Night - Fine Lithographs in Magnificent Walnut Frames 1897

$560.00 USD
Description
I began dealing in art and fine antiques in 1980, and these beautiful prints were one of my earliest purchases. They have graced my home ever since. I bought them from an estate in Ocean City, N.J. along with two very fine still life paintings which I couldn't afford to keep. Everything in that home was exquisite. It is now time for me to let go. I hope someone will enjoy these as much and as long as I have.

Albert Bertel Thorvaldsen (19 November 1770 – 24 March 1844) was a Danish and Icelandic sculptor and medalist of international fame, who spent most of his life (1797–1838) in Italy.
These are two of his most iconic creations. The Angels, Day and Night.
The images are wonderful and the framing superb. Newspaper behind the backing is dated 1897. Notice the fine walnut molding and the veneer-wood liners with gilded inner edges.
The frames are 21" x 21"squares, and the diameters of the images are 15" (sight) under glass.
