How about that? A husband-and-wife artist team! I was knocked out when I found this fabulous gem of a painting. The colors are bright and fun. The composition is marvelously balanced to a degree you would rarely see in an amateur's painting. Perhaps Irene and Charles were professionally schooled. I know that Charles was born in 1900 and passed away only the year after this painting was finished. Irene is gone as well, but I don't know her dates. I only know these two captured a beautiful August day at a fishing spot that is popular still today. You can find photos of this exact spot online. This is a must have for a Chicago fisherman, or anyone who just enjoys a masterfully painted scene of summer fun. Oil on canvasboard 14" x 16".
